Web accessibility is a journey—and with the right tools, Drupal can help you get there faster. This session explores how the Drupal CMS is evolving to support more accessible websites, both through community-driven improvements and emerging AI tools.

We’ll start with an overview of accessibility-focused enhancements to Drupal core and contrib, including initiatives to improve keyboard navigation, semantic markup, and the integration of the Editoria11y accessibility checker. Then we’ll dive into how artificial intelligence can help close the gap—focusing on the AI Image Alt Text module, which generates alt text for images using machine learning.

You’ll leave with practical knowledge about how to:
• Improve accessibility in your Drupal site using automated tools.
• Enhance editorial workflows with in-context accessibility guidance.
• Use AI responsibly to support (but not replace) human judgment in accessibility tasks.

Whether you’re a site builder, developer, or content editor, this session will give you tools and ideas to make your Drupal websites more inclusive.
